Job description
What is the opportunity?

This is a rare opportunity for a dynamic surveyor. Supporting the transformation of the Bank's approach to property risk in a constantly changing market environment to ensure we provide safe lending for our customers!

Please note this is a 12-month fixed term contract.

In this role, you will:
  • Proactively monitor Panel Valuer and Company service standards and reporting
  • Maintain / develop Mortgage Lending Policy, along with overseeing / monitoring quality and accuracy of valuation reports and AVM Outcomes
  • Provision of technical support and advice internally and externally. Also dealing with complaints and non-standard challenges
  • Consideration and monitoring of all credit risks relevant to the business we are undertaking
  • Ensuring compliance with customer, Bank, professional and regulatory standards to deliver best business practices
  • Supporting the Chief Surveyor with representation on Professional Standards, Residential Mortgage Lender and other Forums

Experience with any of the following will help you stand out but is not vital in order for you to apply for this role:

  • Possess accurate and concise communication skills/knowledge evidencing your commercial and risk based awareness to support the Bank's customers.
  • Proven working knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint and other office suites and packages.
  • AssocRICS, MRICS or FRICS (Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors) qualified

The BOI UK Property Risk Team sits within the Homebuying and Ownership Division of the Bank. The function supports the Bank in all aspects of residential property lending, advice and Panel Valuation Management, aligned to our Risk Framework and policies to enhance our award winning customer service experience within a secured lending environment.

Our Property Risk Team is forward thinking, balancing the practicalities of traditional valuation/surveying and modern technology and valuation techniques such as Automated Valuation Models.

This is a hybrid role, based primarily at One Temple Quay, Bristol. We typically ask colleagues to spend a minimum of 8 days per month working in-person to support collaboration and connection. Specific arrangements will be confirmed by your recruiter to ensure they meet the needs of the role and team.
