Job description

We are recruiting for the following vacancy at Cloch Housing Association:

Chief Executive
The Role

As our next Chief Executive, you'll provide visible, inspirational leadership to our dedicated team and Board, steering Cloch towards a brighter future. Reporting directly to the Board, you'll oversee our strategic direction, ensure financial sustainability, and champion customer-focused services that adapt to evolving needs.

Your key responsibilities include to:

  • Lead with Vision: Develop and deliver our Business Plan, translating big ideas into measurable wins while fostering innovation and digital transformation.
  • Champion Culture: Embed our values in every decision, building a positive, inclusive environment that motivates teams and drives continuous improvement.
  • Drive Impact: Manage resources wisely, build strong partnerships with stakeholders (from local authorities to the Scottish Housing Regulator), and act as our ambassador – influencing policy and showcasing our successes.
  • Focus on What Matters: Prioritise tenant safety, community wellbeing, and value for money, all while navigating risks and embracing change.

This is a permanent, full-time role (35 hours/week) with a competitive salary of £90,095 - £93,444 (SM23-SM25). Based at our Greenock office with hybrid flexibility, plus generous perks like 8 weeks' annual leave (29 days + 11 public holidays), health cash plan and more.

It is an exciting and pivotal time to be joining Cloch Housing Association as we step into a new era of growth and opportunity. With a refreshed business plan due to launch in 2026/27, we are shaping a bold future that will ensure we continue to deliver high-quality homes, strengthen communities, and respond to the evolving challenges of our sector. Innovation, collaboration and strong leadership will be central to our success as we build on our proud history while embracing fresh ways of thinking.

Guided by our values – Be Better, Be Kind, Be Responsible, Be Positive – we foster an environment where people thrive, ideas are welcomed, and decisions are made collectively. Our culture is one of openness and trust, where our people, tenants and partners have a voice and play a vital role in shaping what we do. We want our people not only to contribute but also to grow, develop and feel empowered to make a difference.

At Cloch, we are proud of the passion, inclusivity and transparency that define how we work. Together, we are committed to building stronger communities, tackling sector-wide challenges head-on, and ensuring that every decision reflects our mission to exceed customer expectations.

How to Fit at Cloch

Fit is important to us, and we know it will be to you too, so we would love to hear from you if you are someone who is a proven senior leader in the Scottish housing sector, with a track record of turning visions into reality. Educated to degree level (or relevant professional qualification in an appropriate discipline), you'll bring:

  • Deep knowledge of housing regulations, governance, and sector challenges.
  • Experience in strategic planning, financial management, and leading high-performing teams.
  • A passion for innovation, digital transformation, and sustainability.
  • Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills with the energy to inspire and develop others.

We’re also looking for someone who combines strong financial acumen with a customer-first mindset, and who can balance commercial expertise with a genuine commitment to social impact. If you excel at building partnerships and thrive in a collaborative, solutions-oriented environment, we’d love to hear from you.
