Overview

Project Manager, School Libraries (maternity cover) at National Literacy Trust. Role: maternity cover in our school libraries team.

Base pay range: £30,500 per year. Full-time, 35 hours per week. Maternity cover contract for up to nine months. Based in the north of England as a home working role. Travel to project locations and to London for team and organisational days; travel expenses covered.

What you’ll be doing
  • Manage all aspects of project delivery for the primary school libraries programme, including recruitment of schools, delivering training and evaluation, and creating high-quality resources linked to the school curriculum.
  • Work alongside a wide range of partners to deliver the programme in targeted locations across the north of England.
  • Support transformation of library spaces and literacy activities by providing new books, eBooks and audiobooks, training and resources for teachers, and parental engagement strategies.
  • Travel regularly to project locations to support partnerships and delivery; travel to London for team and organisational days (all travel expenses covered).
What we’re looking for
  • Excellent project management skills and experience of managing events and working with schools and/or young people.
  • Knowledge of the education system and primary school curriculum, with strong communication skills.
  • Experience in the education or library sector is an advantage.
  • Driving licence and access to your own vehicle would be helpful due to travel in delivery areas.
