Project Engineer – Wood

We are recruiting a Project Engineer to support the delivery of engineering capital projects based at our client site in Worthing, England. The role can be permanent or contract.

Job Description

This site‑based position works at the client's operating facility. Our Project Engineers work closely with the client to deliver capital projects from concept through to completion, collaborating with both Wood and client engineers, external designers, equipment vendors, and skilled contractors.

The role requires flexibility in day‑to‑day activities.

Responsibilities

Our Project Engineer works closely with a multi‑disciplined engineering team consisting of both Wood and client engineers, external designers, equipment vendors, and skilled contractors.

The role involves flexible day‑to‑day activities and managing interfaces between engineering disciplines to ensure successful delivery of assigned work packages.

Qualifications
  • Degree in a relevant engineering discipline.
  • Application of Wood and client health and safety standards.
  • Ability to maintain safe working practices and mitigate safety issues through design.
  • Experience leading multi‑discipline teams and meeting quality and environmental management system requirements.
  • Capability to manage scope and interfaces between disciplines.
  • Skill reviewing vendor documents and identifying problem areas.
  • Experience managing change and plant changes safely.
  • Understanding of GxP and ALCOA.
  • Monitoring and reviewing engineering progress with Project Services and Engineering disciplines.
  • Act as focal point for assigned projects, managing issues requiring expediting or resolution.
  • Organising, attending, and preparing reports.
