We’re looking for a Head of Donor Engagement, a new role in the Fundraising Leadership Team, to lead our Donor Engagement team.
In line with our redeployment policy, we'll prioritise applications from employees who are under formal notice of redundancy.
In this strategic role you’ll shape and influence how donors connect with us, ensuring they feel valued and inspired by the impact of their generosity – bringing a joy to giving.
You’ll lead a team responsible for donor experience, events, stewardship, and impact communications, designing compelling donor journeys, delivering meaningful engagement opportunities and showcasing the difference our supporters make.
Reporting into our Fundraising and Partnerships Director, you’ll join a positive and forward‑thinking fundraising leadership team where collaboration, inclusion and continuous improvement are key.
Salary: circa £60,762 - £64,000 with potential flexibility based on skills and experience.
As this is a national role, there is flexibility on your contractual place of work. Our hybrid working policy means you can balance office and home working with site visits and meetings at other National Trust places, with an expectation to be at a National Trust site for 40–60% of your working week.
You’ll lead the Donor Engagement team to deliver outstanding experiences that deepen relationships and encourage continued support, overseeing donor journeys, events, stewardship initiatives, and impact reporting, ensuring every interaction reflects our strategic ambitions.
This is a new role in a newly formed team, with real scope to develop it for maximum impact and to create a transformational impact on how we engage with our donors.
Working closely with colleagues across fundraising, communications and marketing you’ll create personalised, segmented and compelling engagement strategies, combining creative storytelling with data‑driven insights so donors see the impact of their support through meaningful experiences and high‑quality reporting.
Through collaborative and inspirational leadership you’ll encourage growth and high‑quality work within your team, while influencing senior stakeholders to align donor engagement with our organisational goals. Your strategic vision will help shape a culture where donors feel emotionally connected and valued.
