Key Responsibilities
- Create production or work orders to plan, schedule and maintain plant production control to meet internal and external customer orders by targeted site or system commit date.
- Schedule production lines for different instrument product groups, factoring in routing time and material lead time.
- Work closely with the Production Department to set correct Kanban levels and safety stock for production usage.
- Collaborate with the Purchasing Department to check material availability and run simulations to identify risks to build plans.
- Collaborate with the Logistics Department to support replenishment of parts, good inwards for new deliveries, kitting of work orders and dispatch for Small Pack and Large Pack orders.
- Partner with the Engineering Department on technical issues and support Engineering Change improvement work.
- Attend daily Cell meetings with production lines and supporting departments to review SAP data, discuss schedules, shortages and technical issues.
- Attend weekly meetings with Quality to discuss returns from customers and any quality constraints affecting production.
- Attend monthly meetings with Business Unit and Product Managers to review future sales forecasts and agree build plans.
- Maintain regular system checks for consumption and backflushing processes, correcting as necessary to maintain site inventory targets.
- Actively participate in annual stock with Finance, including second count and system investigation work.
- Support Site NPI’s, EOL’s and product transfers for planning related areas to maximize efficiency.
- Ensure Planning Department KPI’s are met and strive for benchmark practices in planning, order maintenance, output, inventory control, and quality-driven work.
- Promote Lean principles and drive continuous improvements to meet site and company goals.
Experience Required
- SAP experience preferred.
- Planning/scheduling knowledge and background preferred.
- Good communication skills.
- Strong team player.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Flexible and willing to adapt to change.
