About the role

Our client is embarking on an ambitious multi‑year digital transformation, reshaping the way their organisation delivers technology, product capability and user experience across an established, high‑impact environment. As part of this evolution, they are expanding their digital and technology function with a number of key strategic hires and this position sits right at the heart of it.

This is an exceptional opportunity for a product‑orientated Software Application Manager (or a Product Owner with strong SaaS/application management experience) to take true ownership of a suite of business‑critical software tools. You will be the driving force behind how these products evolve, how they serve users, and how they enable the organisation’s long‑term digital goals.

Key Areas Of Ownership
  • Product ownership & road‑mapping – leading the end‑to‑end lifecycle of multiple software products and tools, driving product strategy, enhancements and optimisation, and reducing duplication while ensuring platforms align to business needs.
  • Supplier & stakeholder management – managing all supplier relationships, commercial conversations and performance, acting as the key point of contact for product enhancements, upgrades and road‑maps, and ensuring suppliers deliver value, stability and continuous improvement.
  • Operational excellence – maintaining a clear, accurate system catalogue, access controls and application documentation; ensuring all applications run smoothly, integrate effectively, and deliver a high‑quality user experience; championing best practice in governance, process and product use.
  • User support & training – working closely with the Service Desk to support end‑users and drive adoption, providing clear product guidance, training and documentation to maximise usage and satisfaction.
  • Compliance, security & risk management – ensuring applications meet internal policies, industry regulations and security standards, and managing risk, access, data handling and audit requirements across the software estate.
About You

This role suits someone who combines product thinking with pragmatic application management. You bring a blend of technical appreciation, commercial awareness, operational discipline and the ability to influence and communicate effectively.

Essential
  • 5+ years experience managing multiple software applications, SaaS products or supplier portfolios.
  • Strong background in product ownership, supplier/account management or software operations.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Proven ability to drive continuous improvement, optimise tools and lead on enhancements.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving capabilities.
Desirable
  • ITIL certification or similar.
  • Experience delivering product or technical road‑maps.
  • Degree in IT, Computer Science or related discipline.
Benefits
  • A permanent role with a competitive salary up to £55,000.
  • A workplace committed to learning, development and long‑term career progression.
  • A values‑driven environment focused on community impact, not profit.
  • Generous benefits including pension scheme, health assurance, counselling services, cycle scheme, eye tests and discounted access to nationwide leisure facilities.
