About Cleo

At Cleo, we’re building more than a fintech app – we’re on a mission to transform humanity’s relationship with money. Imagine a world where everyone, regardless of background or income, has access to a hyper‑intelligent financial advisor in their pocket. That future is what we’re creating.

Cleo is a profitable, fast‑growing unicorn with over $200 million in ARR and 2× YoY growth. We’re committed to high talent standards and a culture of collaboration and positive impact.

We’re currently focusing on the U.S. market, with the Cleo app not available for download in the UK until next year, though existing UK users retain access to the app. We plan to bring the same experience to UK users once we’ve refined our offering.

About The Role

As Cleo scales, you’ll help secure our platform and sustain growth. Using data‑driven insights, you’ll turn rich user data into real impact—cutting down fraud and strengthening decision‑making. You’ll partner with third‑party providers, assess their value, and integrate their data into Cleo’s core systems. You’ll also monitor how fraud rules affect trusted customers, ensuring seamless flows, and run frequent A/B tests to refine our approach.

Key Responsibilities
  • Define key fraud metrics and track KPIs to assess risk to the company and our users.
  • Analyze user behaviour and payments data to identify fraud indicators.
  • Collaborate with fraud investigators to optimize existing rules and create new ones.
  • Work with engineering, product, and data science partners to build a best‑in‑class fraud prevention, detection, and response framework.
  • Collaborate with and evaluate potential third‑party partners that supplement customer data or enable more precise risk decisions.
About You
  • Experience in quantitative analysis within a digital product environment.
  • Exposure to user‑facing product analytics as well as back‑end process improvements.
  • Proven track record of root‑cause analysis and process optimisation.
  • Strong SQL skills – able to extract insights from complex data sources.
  • Comfortable defining metrics from scratch and creating dashboards.
  • Familiarity with large‑scale A/B experiments.
  • Experience contributing to strategic planning, roadmap development, and initiative prioritisation.
Nice to Have
  • Previous experience evaluating the performance of fraud rules.
  • Experience in an adversarial risk prevention or detection space (e.g., fincrime prevention, account security).
What You Get
  • A competitive compensation package (base + equity) with bi‑annual reviews and alignment to quarterly OKR cycles.
  • Work at one of the fastest‑growing tech startups, backed by top VC firms (Balderton & EQT Ventures).
  • A clear progression plan—grow, lead, challenge the status quo, and own your impact with full support.
  • Flexibility and a healthy work environment; globally distributed team, hybrid options for London, and travel cost coverage.
Other Benefits
  • Company‑wide performance reviews every 6 months.
  • Generous pay increases for high‑performing team members.
  • Equity top‑ups for promoted team members.
  • 25 days annual leave + public holidays (plus one additional day for each year spent at Cleo, up to 30 days).
  • 6% employer‑matched pension in the UK.
  • Private medical insurance via Vitality, dental cover, and life assurance.
  • Enhanced parental leave.
  • 1 month paid sabbatical after 4 years at Cleo.
  • Regular socials and activities, both online and in‑person.
  • We’ll pay for your OpenAI subscription.
  • Online mental health support via Spill.
  • Workplace nursery scheme.
  • And many more!
