Imagine a world where everyone, regardless of background or income, has access to a hyper‑intelligent financial advisor in their pocket. That’s the future we’re creating.

Cleo is a rare success story: a profitable, fast‑growing unicorn with over $200 million in ARR and growing over 2× year‑over‑year. We have an exceptionally high bar for talent and seek individuals who are at the top of their field and embody our culture of collaboration and positive impact.

About the Role

As Cleo scales quickly, you’ll help keep our platform secure and our growth sustainable. Using data‑driven insights, you’ll turn rich user data into real impact, cutting down fraud and strengthening our decision‑making. You’ll partner with third‑party providers, assess their value, and integrate their data into Cleo’s core systems. You’ll monitor how our fraud rules impact trusted customers, run A/B tests to refine our approach, and work within our data function—an 80‑person chapter of machine learning engineers, product analysts, and analytic engineers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Define key fraud metrics and track KPIs to assess true risk to the company and our users.
  • Dig deep into user behaviour and payments data to identify features indicative of potential fraud.
  • Collaborate with fraud investigators to identify trends, optimise existing rules, and create new ones to prevent future losses.
  • Work alongside engineering, product, and data‑science partners to build a best‑in‑class fraud prevention, detection and response framework.
  • Collaborate with and assess potential third‑party partners that can supplement customer data or make more precise risk decisions.
About You
  • Experience doing quantitative analysis within a digital product environment.
  • Exposure to both user‑facing product analytics and back‑end process improvements.
  • Proven track record of proactively conducting root‑cause analysis and/or optimising existing processes.
  • Strong SQL skills with the ability to extract insights from complex data sources.
  • Comfortable defining metrics from scratch and creating dashboards.
  • Familiarity with conducting large‑scale A/B experiments.
  • Proven experience contributing to strategic planning, including roadmap development and initiative prioritisation.
Nice to Have
  • Previous experience evaluating the performance of fraud rules.
  • Experience in an adversarial risk prevention or detection space, such as financial crime prevention or account security.
What do you get for all your hard work?
  • A competitive compensation package (base + equity) with bi‑annual reviews, aligned to our quarterly OKR planning cycles. Public progression framework and salary bandings can be viewed here: https://cleo-ai.progressionapp.com/

  • Flexibility: we work with everyone to ensure you have the balance you need to do your best work.
  • Hybrid options: if you live in London we have a hybrid approach; otherwise we encourage occasional in‑person time and cover travel costs.

  • 25 days annual leave a year + public holidays (plus an additional day for each year spent at Cleo, up to 30 days).
