A leading engineering consultancy in Oxford is looking for a Principal Electrical Engineer to join their Operational Assets team. The role focuses on improving performance of existing buildings and leading projects towards sustainability and net-zero targets. Ideal candidates will have a strong background in design engineering, excellent communication skills, and experience with refurbishment projects.

About the role
We have a brand-new opportunity for a Principal or Associate Electrical Engineer to join our Operational Assets team based in our Oxford office.
Are you passionate about existing buildings? Do you thrive on designing pragmatic solutions to operational and performance issues? Are you interested in using real-time data to understand buildings and drive towards a net zero future?
Our newly formed Operational Assets team merges property consultancy, design engineering and data-led building performance to provide a holistic service, creating value through building lifecycles. We embed within client teams to set roadmaps toward sustainability, from concept to implementation and operation, offering a holistic suite of services to identify improvements, design solutions with minimal disruption, manage implementation and monitor impact.
We have a proven track record in the Residential, Commercial and Healthcare sectors. You will join a collaborative, knowledgeable team that values its people. Previous experience in the Science & Research sector is required for this position, as it is the primary focus of our Oxford Office.
What you’ll be doing
What you’ll be doing – project focus
You will work on a varied portfolio of frameworks and UK-based projects, with some overseas opportunities. You will take the lead on small projects up to a few million pounds, providing technical support to end users, landlords, management agents and project managers.
The Operational Assets scope includes:
Projects span Commercial Offices, Retail, Residential, Education, Healthcare, MoJ, Defence, Heritage, Industrial and Technology. Previous experience in the Science & Research sector is required for this position.
