About Oscars

Come and work in a key role with the wonderful growing team at Oscars, where our new management team encourage and support progression on our career pathway. We offer warm and friendly childcare for children aged 5 to 14 years. Many of our sites are located within local primary schools fostering close links with the surrounding community. Our aim is to provide quality out of school childcare to children, with play and educational opportunities in a safe welcoming environment focusing on the social and educational welfare of each child. We are proud of our highly qualified and dedicated team who are passionate about nurturing children and promoting their well‑being.

Hours / Shifts

For a Full Time Play Worker, the hours will be breakfast and after‑school club shift coverage with flexible administration time to create a full working week.

  • Breakfast Club – Monday to Friday, 7:15 am to 9:00 am
  • After School Club – Monday to Thursday, 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm; Friday, 11:30 am to 6:00 pm

Part‑time and casual roles are also available.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Ensuring a safe, caring, stimulating and fun environment for all children at the club.
  • Engaging effectively with the children during their time in the club.
  • Planning and taking part in play and leisure activities for children.
  • Assisting with club set‑up, ensuring snacks or breakfasts are prepared in line with healthy‑eating guidelines.
  • Enjoying your role and making each day count for the children in our care.
What We Need From You
  • SCQF Level 7 (equivalent to SVQ Level 3), HNC in Childcare and Education, or a Play Work qualification – essential for this role.
  • First Aid qualification and Basic Food Hygiene Certificate, or the ability to achieve these.
  • A real passion to work with children, making a difference and helping them thrive.
  • Willingness to travel to other sites within the local area as required (travel/mileage costs paid where applicable).
