A local charity is seeking a Personal Assistant to support a young person, Rory, during his outings in Newcastle. The successful candidate will help Rory access the community and participate in his favorite activities like Metro adventures and park visits. Personal Assistant Required to Support Rory

Location: Newcastle

Hours: Term time 3.5 hours per week, school holidays 27 hours per week.

Pay: £14.20 per hour

About Rory

Rory is a friendly young person who loves getting out and about and exploring his favourite places. His biggest passions include:

  • Travelling on the Metro
  • Watching and spotting trains
  • Going for car rides
  • Playing at the park
  • Occasionally riding his balance bike

Rory enjoys simple, fun outings and likes being supported by someone who is calm, patient, and happy to join in with the things he loves.

About the Role

You will support Rory to access the community safely and confidently. The role includes:

  • Going on Metro adventures and train-spotting trips
  • Visiting Greggs for snacks
  • Short car journeys and local drives
  • Trips to parks and outdoor spaces
  • Encouraging and supporting him to ride his balance bike
  • Providing reassurance, supervision, and positive interaction
  • Supporting Rory to develop confidence, independence, and routine
About You

The ideal person will be:

  • Kind, patient, and reliable
  • Happy to spend time outdoors and on public transport
  • Comfortable supporting a child/young person in the community
  • Able to provide calm reassurance in busy environments
  • Understanding of additional needs or neurodivergence (experience helpful but not essential)
