Job summary

A UK-based retail company is looking for a Payroll Administrator to join their Finance department. In this role, you will manage payroll queries, ensure accurate and timely payments to colleagues, and conduct payroll calculations for new starters and contractual changes. We plan to hold interviews w/c 5th January 2025

It’s an exciting and varied role working alongside the Payroll team within wider Finance department. You will be one of the main points of contact for any payroll related queries, ensuring a high level of service is provided to colleagues at all times and any issues are resolved in a timely manner. You will be working as a team to ensure all colleagues across Lakeland are paid accurately and on time, completing hour checks each week along with distributing reports across the business.

You will have an understanding of the payroll process fromstart to finish - from applying tax code changes and working out manual adjustments through to the final submission of RTI (Real Time Information)to HMRC.

Alongside processing of the payroll, you will be completingcalculations for our new starters, colleagues who are leaving and changeof contracts midway through the year, including holiday calculations.

You will also assist with completing year end duties as and when required.

  • You’ll be comfortable with IT (payroll and time/attendance systems), havegood excel skills, numeracy with a high degree of accuracy and a greatattention to detail to help identify any issues or discrepancies withinthe payroll whilst maintaining confidentiality at all times.
  • You will have worked within a payroll setting before and understand thepayroll process end to end whilst also having an understanding of otherelements that make up payroll such as auto enrolment/attachment ofearnings/sick pay.
  • You will be confident in taking ownership of issues if they arise and ensure they are resolved in a timely manner. Holding a payroll qualification would be advantageous.
  • You will be up to date withpayroll legislation and have worked in a payroll setting for at leasttwo years.
