Job summary

A leading automotive parts distributor in the UK seeks an efficient Payroll Assistant to manage employee salary data for approximately 6,000 employees. The successful candidate will have proven experience in payroll, possess excellent communication skills, and demonstrate strong numerical aptitude and attention to detail. Responsibilities include administering payroll, preparing reports, and handling payroll inquiries. This is an opportunity to join a well-established company with a large workforce in an essential role.

Qualifications

  • Experience in managing employee salary data in a payroll environment.
  • Ability to remain level-headed with difficult queries or tight deadlines.
  • Experience in a Finance/Accounting environment is advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Administer all aspects of payroll for employees.
  • Prepare weekly, monthly payroll reports.
  • Review and abide by company policies and procedures.
  • Ensure payroll transactions are checked for accuracy.
  • Identify and resolve payroll errors.
  • Accomplish required tasks promptly.

Skills

Proven work experience as a Payroll Administrator or similar role
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and payroll software
Strong numerical aptitude and attention to detail

We are looking for an efficient Payroll Assistant to join our team who will be responsible for all aspects of managing employee salary data, ensuring payments are made accurately and on time for approximately 6,000 employees. The ideal candidate will have experience of working in a payroll environment, and will have the necessary qualities to perform the role; trustworthy, honest, confidential, communicative, helpful, responsive.

You will work with a team of payroll administrators to ensure documents are organized and payroll‑related items are handled appropriately.

You will be required to provide information and answer employee/ manager questions about all payroll‑related matters.
