A Bit About Us

Please allow us to celebrate our own success for a moment... We've built a customer‑centric product that is market‑leading, and we are smashing it!

We're a multi‑award‑winning digital payments and insight platform within the automotive industry. We work with over 5,000 automotive retailers, helping drivers to pay for motoring costs, accessories, and other services through a variety of different payment options. Our purpose is to build a solution that gives drivers peace of mind while enhancing customer experience and assisting with dealer profitability.

Our Head Office is in Sheffield City Centre, with offices also based in London and Turkey. We've also expanded further, bringing retailers in Ireland, Germany, Spain, and the Netherlands on board, with the vision of being the leading automotive payment and insights platform!

About the Role

We're looking for a Payment & Consumer Experiences Product Manager to join our dynamic Product team and take ownership of the end‑to‑end customer journey across Bumpers payments and consumer‑facing experiences. This is a pivotal role where you’ll shape the vision, strategy, and development of the products and services that underpin how our customers pay, interact, and engage with Bumper.

In this role, you’ll drive the evolution of our payments capabilities including checkout experiences, payment method expansion, partner integrations, and ongoing optimisation of conversion, trust, and usability. You’ll also be responsible for ensuring our consumer experience is seamless, intuitive, and compliant across all touchpoints, proactively uncovering friction points and translating insights into meaningful improvements.

You’ll collaborate closely with engineering, compliance, risk, design, and commercial teams to balance user needs, regulatory requirements, and technical considerations, turning them into clear roadmaps and actionable product plans. If you thrive on solving complex challenges, enhancing customer experience, and continuously refining how users interact with fintech products, this role offers an exciting opportunity to make a measurable impact.

Reporting into the Head of Product, this is a full‑time hybrid role, with 3 days a week based at either our Sheffield or London office. As the majority of our engineering team are based in Turkey, this role will require travel once or twice a year for collaborative working, team alignment, and team building events.

Day‑to‑day Responsibilities
  • Own and optimise all consumer‑facing web flows, ensuring they are intuitive, seamless and aligned with business and customer needs
  • Lead discovery and product analysis to identify user pain points, validate opportunities, and shape clear product requirements and solutions
  • Monitor performance across consumer journeys, using qualitative insights and quantitative metrics to diagnose issues, identify friction points and drive continuous improvement
  • Ensure UX and UI excellence, collaborating closely with design to deliver user‑friendly, accessible, and conversion‑optimised experiences
  • Analyse competitor journeys and market trends to uncover opportunities, benchmark performance, and ensure our experiences remain best‑in‑class
  • Collaborate cross‑functionally across engineering, design, compliance, commercial, and data teams to deliver high‑quality product enhancements
  • Communicate product decisions and impact confidently to senior stakeholders, translating insights, trade‑offs and results into clear narratives
  • Work closely with engineering during development, providing clarity, unblocking issues, and ensuring solutions meet the intended user and commercial outcomes
  • Leverage data and analysis tools (e.g., analytics dashboards, funnel analysis, experimentation frameworks) to inform decisions and evaluate the success of product changes
About You

Our Product team is passionate, professional and enthusiastic, and we're looking to welcome a Product Manager with a shared interest in Bumper's scale‑up journey, helping us to revolutionise automotive fintech.

If you're an experienced Product Manager who thrives on building strong relationships, delivering insights, and driving product innovation, we'd love to hear from you!

Ideal Candidate Experience
  • Leading end‑to‑end improvements of consumer‑facing digital journeys, from discovery and ideation through to launch and optimisation
  • Defining and executing product strategies and roadmaps that enhance user experience, increase conversion, and reduce friction across web‑based consumer flows
  • Translating user insights, behavioural data, regulatory considerations, and technical requirements into clear, actionable product plans
  • Driving the development and optimisation of web‑based products, particularly those with complex user journeys such as checkouts, onboarding flows, or payment journeys
  • Collaborating confidently across engineering, design, compliance, commercial, and data teams to deliver meaningful enhancements
  • Using product or project management methodologies to manage timelines, prioritisation, and delivery effectively
  • Applying an analytical, data‑informed mindset, interpreting KPIs and funnel metrics to identify issues, validate hypotheses, and make evidence‑based decisions
  • Communicating clearly and persuasively with stakeholders at all levels, articulating rationale, trade‑offs, and the impact of changes
  • Understanding consumer expectations, UX best practices, and emerging trends that influence digital purchasing and financial behaviour in the UK market
Nice to Haves
  • Experience working in a scale‑up or high‑growth environment, where pace, adaptability, and autonomy are key
  • Payments experience, such as exposure to checkout flows, payment method integrations, or payment operations
  • Formal certifications or qualifications in product management (e.g., Product School, Pragmatic Institute, APM, Scrum)
  • Familiarity with UX/UI principles and user‑centred design, working closely with designers to shape seamless experiences
  • Experience conducting A/B tests, user interviews, or usability studies, using structured discovery techniques to shape product decisions
Benefits
  • Competitive Salary
  • Company bonus scheme
  • Private Healthcare and Medicash plan
  • 26 days holiday + bank holidays, plus volunteer days throughout the year (pro‑rated)
  • Tax‑saving Salary Sacrifice Pension with Aviva
  • Salary sacrifice Cycle to Work, Octopus Electric Vehicle, and Nursery fee schemes available
  • Wellbeing platform with an allowance of £250 per year

  • Annual company‑wide Bumper Retreat, a few days of fun, collaboration, and mingling (make sure your passports are in date!)
  • When the time comes, we will give 4 months paid leave to primary carers, and 1 month of paid leave to secondary carers

Perks are nice, but we know perks don’t make up the whole package of a great job. By joining our Bumper team, you'll have the opportunity to be an ambassador for our product & brand, and help us to continue on our winning streak!
