Job description

Part‑Time Personal Assistant @ £15.00/hr in Leeds - Leeds - LS16

Pay and Hours

Pay rate: £15 per hour. Hours: for discussion: variable/flexible to provide cover, not full‑time, depending on your availability.

Location

West Park, North Leeds.

Requirements
  • Own car and driving licence.
  • Ability to lift and fit a wheelchair (10 kg) in the car.
Job Overview & Responsibilities

The role involves ensuring the individual's safety and supervision, maintaining a daily schedule (timed meals, outings, etc.), providing general housekeeping such as cooking lunch, preparing snacks and evening meals, cleaning, hoovering, dusting, changing the bed and doing laundry. It also includes making phone calls and answering emails on behalf of the individual, assisting with planning and decision‑making, food shopping independently or occasionally together, picking up medication from the pharmacy, handling laundrette drop‑offs and pick‑ups, accompanying to hospital appointments, local “fresh air” outings, coffee or meals, short car trips to nearby cafes, farms or parks, and attending church. Short outings may last up to 1‑2 hours including travel time. The role may also involve intermittent personal care if required.

Additional Information

There is scope for more days and hours once a good working relationship is established. Ideally the PA would be available for overnight stays as a live‑in carer to provide respite for occasional days or up to a week for the partner, who is the main carer. Because the individual is immunocompromised, excellent hygiene standards for food preparation, hand hygiene and overall cleanliness of the flat are required. Interests include classical, pop and folk music, film, cooking (currently not possible), outdoors, and reading.

I am looking for a friendly, responsible and reliable person who can fully understand this situation, maintain professionalism, manage a busy schedule effectively and ensure all needs are met efficiently.
