Department: Insurance, Financial & Professional Disputes – Construction PI

Overview

Our Construction Professional Indemnity (PI) team is part of Clyde & Co’s market‑leading Professional and Financial Disputes practice. We represent a wide range of construction professionals and their insurers – architects, engineers, contractors, designers, project managers, quantity surveyors across all construction sectors. We advise on complex professional claims, coverage issues, policy disputes, and provide risk management and pre‑claims advice.

The Role

We are seeking a Paralegal to join our busy and growing Construction PI team. The role offers hands‑on experience in high‑value professional indemnity work, supporting lawyers on complex disputes and pre‑action matters.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist fee earners with case management across a variety of professional indemnity claims involving construction professionals.
  • Review and analyse evidence, expert reports, and technical documents.
  • Prepare first drafts of correspondence, instructions to counsel and experts, and legal documents.
  • Conduct legal research and prepare summaries or case analyses.
  • Liaise with clients, insurers, counsel, and experts as required.
  • Manage and maintain case files, document bundles, and disclosure exercises.
  • Support the team in preparing reports, case summaries, and management information for clients and insurers.
  • Assist with administrative tasks to ensure smooth running of matters.
Skills And Experience
  • Previous paralegal experience within insurance, professional indemnity or construction disputes is highly desirable.
  • Strong organisational and case management skills, with excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and work to tight deadlines.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • A proactive approach, enthusiasm to learn and develop within a dynamic team environment.
