In the Manufacturing team at JLR’s Electric Propulsion Manufacturing Centre (EPMC), you’ll help power iconic electric cars. As a Packaging Engineer here at JLR, you’ll contribute to the development and execution of the logistics packaging strategy for MP&L Operations. You will provide technical support and work towards standardising and improving Packaging both internal and external EMC, through data driven analysis delivering systems and tool which optimises the packaging availability.

  • Lead the planning, development and approval of packaging concepts to ensure robust support for Mass Production and alignment with New Model build requirements
  • Drive cross functional resolution of complex packaging issues, delivering real time containment, permanent corrective actions, and supplier cost recovery where required
  • Manage packaging operations and performance, including pallet repair, packaging provision, metric reporting, and maintenance of accurate container/packaging data systems
  • Coordinate with suppliers, internal stakeholders and packaging manufacturers to deliver new and modified packaging, ensuring lessons learned and quality improvements are fully embedded
  • Champion continuous improvement and optimisation, developing business cases to secure funding, improving packaging loops, and introducing innovative ways of working and best practice solutions

What You’ll Need

Along with your ambition to achieve the exceptional, there are several skills that you’ll need to have to help you succeed here, including:

  • Proven experience in packaging development and its application within a manufacturing environment
  • Strong background in packaging supply chain operations, with an understanding of end to end material flow
  • Proficient in business systems and MS Office, with strong general IT capability
  • Good understanding of current Business Objectives and Behaviours, and how they translate into day to day delivery
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively at all levels both internally and with external partners
