An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Milestones Trust as our Operational Systems Lead.

We’re looking for a forward-thinking and tech-savvy individual to lead the daily management, technical support, and development of operational systems across the Trust. This is a key role in our digital transformation journey, ensuring our systems are fit for purpose, compliant, and aligned with the evolving needs of our services and the organisation. Additionally, that staff feel capable and confident to use these systems.

You’ll work closely with System Owners, operational teams, IT, and senior leaders to support the effective use of technology, identify future system needs, and explore new and emerging technologies—including assistive technologies and business intelligence tools.

What you’ll be doing:
  • Leading the daily administration, trouble shooting and development of operational systems that support service delivery and strategic goals.
  • Delivering training and support to staff to ensure confident use of systems.
  • Supporting the transition from legacy systems to modern, efficient technologies.
  • Identifying and implementing assistive technology solutions that improve outcomes for the people we support.
  • Ensuring systems are compliant with GDPR and regulatory standards (e.g., CQC, RIDDOR, Data Protection).
  • Collaborating with IT and other departments to identify infrastructure and equipment needs.
  • Staying up to date with emerging tech trends and assessing their relevance to our services and organisation.
  • Working with managers and departments to monitor compliance and support service improvement.
  • Using remote collaboration tools effectively as part of our hybrid working model.
What we’re looking for:
  • A systems-focused professional with experience in operational or digital transformation roles
  • Working knowledge and understanding of social care.
  • Strong understanding of compliance and data protection requirements.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • A proactive, solutions-focused mindset with the ability to support change.
  • Confidence working both independently and collaboratively across departments.

Milestones Trust is committed to innovation and continuous improvement. In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to shape how technology supports our services and contributes to better outcomes for the people we support. You’ll be part of a supportive, forward-thinking team that values creativity, collaboration, and impact.

The role is office and field based and is 30 hours per week (hours are flexible).

Here at Milestones Trust we recognise that without the hard work, commitment and passion of our staff, we wouldn’t be the charity we are today. That’s why we are committed to rewarding you with a competitive pay and benefits package including:

  • Get paid when you want – Access your money as you earn it and request your earnings before payday using Dayforce Wallet.

  • Generous Occupational Maternity/Paternity pay
  • Learning and development opportunities for you to build your career
  • Health Cash Plan on completion of probation giving you access to a minimum of £695 cash back for health treatments e.g. Dental, Therapies, Optical, Maternity/Paternity, NHS Prescriptions etc.

We pride ourselves with being able to offer staff opportunities to develop and progress their careers within the Trust.
