Job description
Overview

We are looking for a Customer Service Assistant to join our team at One Stop, a subsidiary of Tesco. In a fast paced retail environment, no day is the same. You will play an important role in day-to-day store operations by providing excellent customer service, stocking shelves, processing payments and helping maintain the store’s appearance.

As the customer is at the heart of everything we do, you will continuously look for ways to improve service through on-the-job coaching and feedback. With your guidance, the store will remain a safe place to work and shop.

Responsibilities
  • Know your customers and serve them with passion and pride, delivering great natural service.
  • Encourage customers to provide feedback by completing the “have your say” survey.
  • Work across all areas of the store, including online, tills, replenishment, vending and stock routines to meet customer needs.
  • Apply training to ensure tasks are carried out safely.
  • Take part in seasonal, community and charity events to create an inclusive atmosphere.
  • Be knowledgeable about store performance and understand your role in delivering profit.
  • Follow company values, make everyone feel welcome, and adhere to policies.
  • Clock in and out at the start and end of shifts to ensure accurate pay.
  • Follow safety procedures and wear safety equipment where available to keep staff and customers safe.
  • Follow the Think 25 policy when serving age-restricted products.
  • Respond quickly to assistance calls or interventions on self-service checkouts and communicate clearly with customers.
  • Maintain a clean, tidy and organized store, keeping aisles clear.
  • Occasionally run the shift in the absence of the Shift Leader or Store Manager.
  • Follow all training to keep yourself, others and the store safe and compliant.
  • Post Office Local duties (if applicable) require a Post Office financial and criminal conviction background check; you must pass to proceed with the role. If checks fail, the offer may be withdrawn.
