A leading engineering firm in Norwich is seeking talented engineers for transient roles in gas and electricity metering. Candidates should possess Smart Metering experience and relevant qualifications. The role includes travel and flexible working patterns, with excellent compensation options including bonuses and allowances. Working Hours: 40 hours Monday – Friday
Transient Work Levels: Open to discuss (1, 2, or 3 weeks away per month)
Salary:
Retention Bonus Scheme: Up to £60,000 payable after three years, subject to overall business performance and individual targets
We’re looking for talented and ambitious engineers to join our rapidly growing business. This is a unique opportunity for passionate, motivated individuals to help us expand our field gas and electric metering capability across the UK. Whether you’re looking to join as a Transient Elite Engineer, including Warrant Officer duties, or prefer a Transient Non‑Elite Dual Fuel role focused purely on metering without warrant work, we have the right opportunity for you.
Our Transient Engineers work flexibly across different regions, with levels of transient work open to discussion – whether you prefer being away 1, 2 or 3 weeks out of 4, we’ll work with you to find the right balance.
This is a transient role, requiring you to work away from home at least one week out of every four. The exact frequency will be discussed at the interview stage.
During transient weeks, you will typically travel to your allocated location on Sunday, work Monday to Thursday (8 am–7 pm), and return home on Friday.
All travel time will be paid at overtime rates (x1.5 and x1 respectively). In addition, you will receive:
