Nightshift Supervisor for Milk Operations at Wm Armstrong (Longtown) Ltd.

  • Job Title: Nightshift Supervisor Milk Operations
  • Reports to: Depot Manager
  • Salary: £36,000 to £42,000 per annum (based on experience)
  • Shift: Nightshift 4 on 4 off, 12‑hour shifts
  • Location: Aspatria
Responsibilities
  • Lead and supervise the nightshift driving team, ensuring clear communication and smooth shift transitions.
  • Oversee start times, load accuracy, and shift coverage to meet delivery and collection schedules.
  • Adapt plans in real time to meet customer demands while maintaining profitability.
  • Monitor and report on KPIs and customer‑required data daily.
  • Ensure service levels are met in collaboration with other departments.
  • Optimise resources while ensuring compliance with WTD and driver hours legislation.
  • Maintain legal compliance for vehicle roadworthiness (defects, services, MOTs).
  • Conduct return‑to‑work meetings, investigations, briefings, and disciplinaries.
  • Log and report all accidents, incidents, and near misses promptly.
  • Foster a positive team culture, addressing driver concerns and communicating operational updates.
  • Manage driver holidays and ensure adequate shift cover.
