Are You Ready to Play a Superpowered Role in the UK's Transition to Net Zero?

Join us at National Grid Electricity Distribution and become part of a business dedicated to delivering a clean, fair, and affordable energy future.

We’re excited to offer a full‑time, permanent opportunity for a Superpowered Compliance Manager to join our team! In this role, you’ll be the driving force behind maintaining compliance with legal and regulatory obligations while fostering a strong ethical culture.

Working closely with the Head of Compliance and the Risk and Controls team, you’ll ensure that compliance processes are superpowered for accuracy and efficiency — capturing, verifying, monitoring, and reporting data promptly and effectively.

What's in it for you?

A competitive salary between £61,000‑£74,000 per annum – dependent on capability.

As well as your base salary, you will receive a bonus of up to 15% of your salary for stretch performance and a competitive contributory pension scheme where we will double match your contribution to a maximum company contribution of 12%.

You will also have access to a number of flexible benefits such as a share incentive plan, salary sacrifice car and technology schemes, support via employee assistance lines, and matched charity giving, to name a few.

What you'll be getting up to
  • Support the Head of Compliance in identifying, assessing, and reporting compliance and ethics requirements through established mechanisms (e.g., Compliance Business Assessment, Certificate of Assurance, Archer platform).
  • Promote a positive ethics culture by raising compliance awareness across the business.
  • Monitor and ensure timely completion of compliance and ethics actions.
  • Advise risk and controls owners on best practices; lead compliance/ethics training.
  • Develop and execute the annual compliance training plan, ensuring high completion rates.
  • Coordinate reporting materials for NGED Risk Committee and Audit Risk Committee.
About you
  • You'll have knowledge or experience of Compliance, Risk, Ethics, or Assurance Frameworks, and be ambitious for success, with a strong sense of initiative, a positive can‑do attitude, and willingness to learn.
  • Thorough knowledge of control design and testing.
  • Ability to grasp complex issues and effectively integrate, compile, and analyze information and data.
  • Excel and PowerPoint proficiency required.

Don’t meet every single requirement? Studies have shown that women and people of colour are less likely to apply for jobs unless they meet every single qualification. At National Grid, we are committed to building a diverse, inclusive, and authentic workplace for everyone. So, if you’re excited about this role but your experience or qualifications don’t match the job description exactly, we encourage you to apply anyway. You might just be the right person for our growing business in this role or another one.
