Volunteering with St John Ambulance strengthens communities. From youth support and education to wellbeing, events, and fundraising; your time makes a real impact.

Attendance at regular meetings across the London area with travel for meetings, events and training.

Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated individual to take on the role of Network Volunteering Services Lead who can work and lead volunteering groups and leaders in their own way, supported by our central teams. At St John Ambulance, we are looking to embed ourselves within our communities, delivering support which is tailored to the needs of those communities whilst providing a positive experience for our Volunteers.

Responsibilities
  • Lead volunteering groups and volunteer leaders across a geographical area to deliver Community First Aid, Community Education and Community Fundraising, as well as develop our offering for young people.
  • Drive delivery excellence, develop an inclusive and diverse volunteering experience for new and current volunteers, and navigate change to build a bigger and better St John Ambulance.
  • Support and inspire volunteers and ensure strong collaboration with central teams to deliver essential services.
  • Attend regular weekly network meetings and training to keep skills up to date.
Qualifications / What we’re looking for
  • Passion for making a difference in communities and for helping and developing others.
  • Ability to lead and inspire a volunteer movement across a geographical area and across a team of Volunteer leaders.
  • Commitment to learning, attending both online and in-person training as required.
  • Willingness to travel to meetings, events and training as needed.
Induction, training and volunteering terms

We provide a proper induction to volunteering with SJA and the training you need for the role. A supportive volunteering environment is provided. Information about volunteer roles is included in the role descriptions, and details of what we expect from volunteers is included in the volunteer charter. Training for the role will be discussed after appointment.
