Job description
Multi Skilled Engineer (Day Shift) – Princes Group

Location: Wisbech, United Kingdom. Employment type: Permanent, Day Shift (4 on 4 off). Build and maintain production assets to achieve optimum operational efficiency, statutory and customer compliance, and H&S requirements.

Responsibilities
  • Safety, Quality & Hygiene: Ensure safe working practices, adhere to H&S policies, maintain GMP standards, complete risk assessments, reduce accidents, and minimise customer complaints through effective maintenance.
  • Operations Management: Set objectives with Area Coordinator, record work (PPMs, breakdowns, repairs), train/support other departments, and manage unresolved issues to closed status.
  • Continuous Improvement: Apply 5S, GMP and other improvement tools to enhance quality, safety, efficiency and waste reduction. Continuously review performance and implement improvement opportunities.
  • Communication: Provide clear verbal and written communication, handover reports, status updates with Engineering and Manufacturing teams, and coordination with Engineering Stores for spare availability.
Requirements
  • Recognised engineering apprenticeship, preferably multi‑skilled.
  • Experience in FMCG manufacturing environment.
  • PC literate with expertise in CMMS – preferably SAP.
  • Familiarity with Permit to Work systems and dynamic risk assessments.
  • Strong diagnostic skills (mechanical, electrical, PLC, process) and problem‑solving capabilities.
  • Ability to read and understand technical manuals and engineering drawings.
  • Commitment to maintaining food safety, legality, integrity, authenticity and quality standards.
