Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Community Mental Health Team for a Medical Secretary working at Central Park Hub, working 37.50 hours per week. Working days will be Monday - Friday.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Medical Secretary who enjoys working as part of a team and can demonstrate a commitment to delivering a high quality medical secretary.

We note that this role is not eligible for sponsorship unless you meet criteria by temporary exemption from current changes to immigration rules put in force on 22/07/2025. Separate provisions are applied to workers who have been sponsored and held continuously Skilled Worker visa since prior to 04/04/2024.

Main duties of the job

To provide a comprehensive administrative service to identified medical teams within the North Manchester Division. The post holder will act as a PA for a number of consultants and line manage receptionist and medical support secretaries, where applicable to ensure all work is completed in a timely manner.

The Medical Secretary will undertake general office duties including the typing of medical and other correspondence and actioning any requirements identified within the typing. They will be responsible for the management of administrative duties within their area of work including; ensuring the allocation of discharge summaries and their timely completion, updating and circulating the on‑call rota as required, answering and managing calls from patients and their carers / relatives and other health and social care professionals.

They will be responsible for supporting the Trust in achieving relevant performance targets.
