A leading energy company in Runcorn is seeking a Mechanical Shaftline Engineer to enhance their technical team for CCGT operations. The role involves ensuring the performance of gas turbines, managing outages, and contributing to engineering projects. Ideal candidates have a strong mechanical engineering background and over 10 years of experience in power plant operations. This position offers a dynamic work environment, focusing on safety and collaboration.

We have an exciting new opportunity for a Mechanical Shaftline Engineer to join our team atRocksavage Power Station. This is a new key role created to strengthen our technical capability and support long term performance of our CCGT.
You’ll work closely with our Engineering Manager to focus on the performance of our gas turbines, steam turbine, and critical rotating plant machinery. You’ll play an instrumental part in shaping and delivering our shaftline strategy, which forms a core part of our wider engineering maintenance strategy.

The Rocksavage team are highly skilled and experienced individuals, all focused on continually improving the way we operate, maintain, and manage the plant. Our Reliability Improvement Program has become one of the key drivers in improving how we work. Leading the way to sustainable generation.’ Our goal being to become the first hydrogen co‑fired CCGT power station in the country.

As our new Mechanical Shaftline Engineer, you’re an expert in CCGT operations, someone who understands shaftline strategies and thrives on taking ownership of technical engineering challenges. You’ll have a solutions driven mindset and bring hands‑on experience with gas and steam turbines, rotating machinery and outage coordination that drives long term asset performance.
You’re flexible, enthusiastic, and a true team player – someone who’s happy to be on‑call and provide out of hours support when needed to ensure Rocksavage runs smoothly. You’re proactive in your approach, always looking for ways to make improvements, and you contribute positively to our “Think Differently” culture by challenging the norm and bringing fresh ideas to the table.
