Overview

Mechanical Project Manager - Europe - 144860

Jones Engineering is currently seeking an experienced Mechanical Project Manager to lead and deliver large-scale mechanical engineering projects across diverse sectors. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all phases of the project lifecycle, from planning and procurement to execution and handover. This role requires strong leadership, commercial awareness, and technical expertise to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality and safety standards.

Responsibilities
  • Proven record delivering Mechanical projects from pre-construction through to commissioning and handover, on time and within budget.
  • Experience of managing combined Mechanical / Electrical projects a distinct advantage.
  • Commercially and contractually competent with a good understanding of project P&L.
  • Proven ability to manage an existing core cross-functional team / develop the team.
  • Manage the full lifecycle of mechanical projects, from initiation through to completion and handover.
  • Develop project plans, schedules, budgets, and resource allocations, ensuring alignment with client requirements and company objectives.
  • Oversee and coordinate design, procurement, installation, and commissioning activities across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Lead regular project meetings with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and internal teams to ensure clear communication and alignment.
  • Monitor project progress, identify risks or delays, and implement corrective actions to maintain timelines and budget control.
  • Ensure all works are carried out in accordance with health, safety, quality, and environmental standards.
  • Review and approve technical submittals, RFIs, and method statements.
  • Manage project documentation and reporting, ensuring accurate records are maintained throughout the project.
  • Foster strong client relationships and ensure high levels of satisfaction through proactive communication and successful project delivery.
  • Drive continuous improvement and support value engineering initiatives to enhance project efficiency and outcomes.
Skills and Requirements
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience post qualification.
  • Relevant third level qualification essential (Mechanical / Building Services Engineering).
  • Excellent IT skills essential and a good understanding of programmes including CSA activities.
  • Proven ability to work both individually and as part of a cross-functional team.
  • Prior experience in managing building services projects (medium and large scale).
  • Data centre experience is advantageous, but not essential.
  • Excellent communication and organisation skills essential.
