Job summary

A nationwide service provider in the UK is seeking an experienced Mechanical Fitter to support clients in the water industry across East Anglia. The ideal candidate should have a recognized qualification in Mechanical Engineering and experience with motors, gearboxes, and pumps. Strong attention to detail and a commitment to safety are essential. This role offers the potential for overseas travel and long-term placements.

Qualifications

  • Experienced Mechanical Fitter with practical skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings.
  • Full UK driving license preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect and disassemble pumps and rotating machines.
  • Produce job reports and maintenance checks.
  • Maintain high standards of customer service.

  • Workindependentlyaswellascollaborativelywithinateam
  • Bemethodicalandprecise,maintainingclearnotesandrecordsduringdisassembly
  • Carryoutfabricationandmechanicalrepairproceduresasrequired

Your skills and experiences:

  • Hold a recognised qualification in Mechanical Engineering (C&G, NVQ or equivalent)
  • Previous experience in a mechanical fitting environment
  • Knowledge and practical experience of working with motors, pumps, and gearboxes
  • Competent in the correct and safe use of industry-standard tools and equipment
  • Ability to prepare and assemble mechanical parts to required standards ready for testing
  • Demonstrate good attention to detail and adherence to QA standards
  • Committed to maintaining personal and site safety standards
  • Full UK driving licence preferred
