Job summary

A leading energy services company in the UK is seeking a Mechanical & AC Building Services Maintenance Engineer. This full-time role involves providing technical engineering support, conducting preventive and reactive maintenance, and managing subcontractors. Qualifications

  • Must hold a recognized mechanical trade apprenticeship and/or relevant qualifications to level 3 in a relevant mechanical discipline with suitable industry experience.
  • Experience in building services maintenance is essential.
  • Willingness to attain cross-skilling and IT literate.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Demonstrate good planning, organizing and prioritising skills.
  • Ability to show examples of using initiative and judgement to resolve problems.
  • Experience in a Healthcare environment is an advantage.
  • Good understanding of health & safety best practice; formal training an advantage.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical engineering support within the Hard FM Services department by carrying out preventive maintenance to deadlines.
  • Respond to reactive and emergency faults and conduct reactive maintenance to ensure compliance with KPI targets.
  • Manage sub-contractors as necessary and work to a safe system of work.
  • Undertake AP/RP duties for the disciplines appointed.

Overview

Equans is a renowned energies & services contractor and a proud member of the Bouygues global industrial group. Our expertise spans the design, construction, and maintenance of buildings and critical infrastructure worldwide.

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Mechanical & AC Building Services Maintenance Engineer to join our Facilities Management team at West Middlesex University Hospital in Isleworth. This is a permanent full-time position working 40 hours per week, from 08:00 to 17:00, Mon to Fri.

Responsibilities
  • Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor
  • Provide technical engineering support within the Hard FM Services department by carrying out preventive maintenance to deadlines and maintaining paperwork to support PPM activities
  • Respond to reactive and emergency faults and conduct reactive maintenance to ensure compliance with KPI targets
  • Manage sub-contractors as necessary, working to a safe system of work and permit-to-work system
  • Undertake AP/RP duties for the disciplines appointed
  • Work 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday with a requirement to participate in the out-of-hours on-call rota and be able to respond/attend site within one hour of the call
Qualifications
  • Must hold a recognised mechanical trade apprenticeship and/or relevant qualifications to level 3 (theory and practice) in a relevant mechanical discipline with suitable industry experience; AP in HV desirable; F-gas qualification essential
  • Experience in building services maintenance is essential
  • Willingness to attain cross-skilling and IT literate
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Demonstrate good planning, organizing and prioritising skills
  • Ability to show examples of using initiative and judgement to resolve problems
