We are currently seeking an experienced Masterplanner to join our Urban Design team in Birmingham. We aim to appoint the most suitable candidate to collaborate on a diverse range of challenging projects spanning the UK.

Our expert design teams excel in large-scale urban extensions, area regeneration strategies, and residential schemes, backed by a deep understanding of planning policies crucial for project success.

This role offers a compelling opportunity to collaborate with a talented group of designers and architects. As part of our team, you will engage in urban design and planning tasks, conduct feasibility studies, develop development briefs, create visions for new places and formulate design strategies for residential and mixed‑use projects, among others. Join us in shaping the future of urban landscapes with your expertise and creativity.

Qualifications
  • Hold a relevant Undergraduate Degree, Masters or Diploma in Urban Design / Architecture / Built Environment
  • Work experience in private practice / consultancy or a commercial housebuilding operation.
  • Experience of producing initial visions for large scale developments
  • Outline application experience
  • A good knowledge of how Masterplans will deliver inclusive and well‑designed places once they progress to detailed layout design
  • A working knowledge of the planning system with an ability to interpret and adapt to specific local authority design guidance.
  • Knowledge of CAD software packages. Experience in Vectorworks and/or Sketchup would be an advantage but not essential.
  • Work independently with other consultants.
  • Confident liaising with clients, building relationships and understanding client requirements.
  • Strong project management skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and interdisciplinary skills.
  • Self‑motivated with an excellent eye for detail.
