About this opportunity
Your work environment:

A vacancy for a fixed‑term contract has arisen in Wantage (UK) for a Master Data Assistant Controller. Reporting to the Master Data Team Leader, you are responsible for managing and maintaining critical master data in SAP and JDE ERP systems for EMEA. The role ensures data integrity, compliance and accuracy across systems while supporting continuous improvement of master data processes through automation, standardisation, and best‑practice methodologies such as Lean and Six Sigma.

Your mission in Crown
  • Create and maintain production items through the SKU cockpit for cans, ends, and shells
  • Support the material creation process in SAP for Crown Europe.
  • Maintain the address book for Crown Europe in all ERP systems (customers, suppliers, employees, affiliates, hauliers, factors, payees, ship‑to addresses)
  • Ensure compliance with Crown data governance policies, maintaining clear audit trails and adherence to Sarbanes–Oxley requirements
  • Manage and maintain master data for exchange rates and commodity codes
  • Create purchased items through the LSMW process (prime materials, raw materials, spare parts, tooling, packaging, etc.)
  • Maintain approval routes for expenditure both inside and outside ERP systems in line with Crown policies.
  • Support mass data migration from JDE to SAP and data cleansing activities for all master data domains (Business Partners, Materials, GLs, Cost Centres, etc.).
  • Drive continuous improvement in master data processes, identifying opportunities to enhance efficiency, reduce errors, and standardise procedures across the organisation
  • Develop and maintain a process and work instruction library, ensuring consistent execution of data management processes.
About you

Essential qualifications, skills and experience:

  • Current or studying for an Accountancy‑based qualification (AAT, CIMA, ACCA)
  • Experience with SAP and JD Edwards ERP system
  • Exposure to Sarbanes–Oxley requirements
  • Strong computer literacy and systems awareness
  • Excellent attention to detail and data accuracy
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to identify and propose process improvements
  • Diligence and high level of organisation
  • Deadline focus and accountabilityFlexibility to travel within the UK and occasionally Europe
  • Ability to work and communicate effectively within a diverse cultural environment
