The Marketing Manager will support the organisational marketing strategy and take ownership of the delivery of day-to-day marketing activity at company, sector and account levels across multiple communication platforms.
The Marketing Manager will take responsibility for positioning iconsys as an employer of choice, from a marketing perspective, ensuring alignment with iconsys’ overall marketing objectives and brand.
Key Responsibilities
- To develop, implement, monitor and report on sector marketing plans in line with overall business and sector objectives, collaborating with internal stakeholders and following agreed internal processes.
- To create and manage employer brand activity and promote iconsys as an employer of choice, including careers content, early careers campaigns and internal communications.
- To implement and report on company-level marketing plans.
- To conduct line management responsibilities, initially for one team member.
- To analyse & identify key sector target audiences and the development of channel-specific plans and campaigns.
- To embed AI across day-to-day marketing activity – using AI tools to plan and optimise digital campaigns, support social and content creation, and automate reporting to improve performance and efficiency.
- To evaluate and adopt new AI capabilities that can enhance targeting, personalisation and workflow automation across marketing channels.
- To work closely with external agencies, brief, coordinate and quality-check the design and output of promotional material (sales literature, press releases, brochures, presentations and other collateral) and manage costs accordingly.
- To maintain and communicate a consistent brand image across all marketing channels and touchpoints, both external and internal.
- To manage and enhance relationships with technology and platform partners, coordinating joint campaigns and marketing activity.
- To work closely with the Sales team and wider business units to improve lead generation and prospecting through better sector-based targeting, content and campaigns.
- To create the annual marketing budget (e.g. event costings, campaign estimates, supplier quotes).
- To manage the company’s attendance at events such as trade shows and conferences, including logistics, stand collateral and pre-/post-event communications.
- To enhance our online marketing strategy, including working with our content creator to manage the day-to-day publishing of content on the company website and social media channels, including reporting on results and suggestions to evolve the strategy.
- To plan, brief and edit written content for social media, PR, website, case studies, blogs and white papers, collaborating with subject matter experts across the business, and external agencies.
- To manage and enhance the internal communications strategy to ensure optimal and consistent brand promotion and compliance.
- Any other relevant duties as required.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- Hold a degree-level qualification in Marketing, Business/Administration or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
- Hold at least 3 years’ experience in a B2B marketing manager role (agency or in-house), ideally within engineering, industrial automation or a related technical environment (preferred but not essential).
- Have hands‑on experience planning and delivering multi‑channel marketing campaigns and reporting on performance.
- Hold experience in digital and direct marketing channels (e.g. email, social media, paid campaigns, webinars, events).
- Hold strong copywriting and editing skills, with an eye for detail and the ability to tailor messages for different target audiences and channels.
- Hold strong project management skills, able to manage multiple campaigns and deadlines simultaneously.
- To be a confident problem solver, able to work through ambiguity and propose practical marketing solutions.
- Hands‑on experience with CRM and marketing automation tools such as HubSpot and Dynamics, or similar (experience preferred in both but not essential).
- To be comfortable working with data to track, interpret and report on marketing performance.
- To conduct reasonable business travel
