A leading engineering consultancy company in the UK is seeking a Maritime Placement Year Student. This role involves working on various maritime projects, gaining exposure from concept to delivery. Ideal candidates should be pursuing a 2:1 degree in engineering or a related field. You will be part of solving complex challenges while working closely with experienced professionals. This is a placement year role within our Maritime focused teams at Frazer‑Nash which consist of:
Each team brings together a wide range of civil and military engineering experience to which you can be an integral part of the team. At Frazer‑Nash we understand each person is unique and it is our aim to help guide you into the team and business area that is the best fit for you. So, if you have a strong desire or interest for a particular team described above, please let us know within your covering letter and application. You'll be able to develop your technical knowledge throughout the Concept, Assessment, Demonstration, Manufacture, In‑service and Disposal (CADMID) phases of maritime projects. From finding the missing piece of the design puzzle, to helping manage vessel build and delivery. You will be solving real‑time in‑service issues, and helping our clients overcome ever more complex material degradation and ageing issues as vessels near the end of their design life. While also looking to the future challenges of autonomous vessels, next generation shipping and utilisation of sustainable fuels.
As part of the wider business area, you will pull expertise from across the company and get a taste of what goes on in different areas of the business. Our graduates will gain exposure and experience in the huge variety of our work, and the chance to explore where their own skills and interests lie, whether that be a leadership or technical path. At Frazer‑Nash we think it is important that you gain exposure to the full project lifecycle and all aspects of our business. You will be given appropriate responsibility from day one, working as part of a project team, interacting with team members and client’s as required. You will have the opportunity to travel within the UK and internationally – visiting client sites, attending key networking events, perhaps sharing your work at leading industry conferences.
Due to the nature of the work that Frazer‑Nash Consultancy undertake, candidates will be required to undergo pre‑employment screening and will be required to satisfy clearance criteria for UK National Security Vetting.
