Job Description
Summary/objective

The Manufacturing Syrup Blender Assistant position is a key member of the Quality Control Team. This position contributes to the success of the Buffalo Rock Company by ensuring the overall quality of ingredients and finished products in accordance with Company Standards to uphold trademark integrity.

Essential functions

  • Responsible for the distribution of syrup, changeover(s) on micro blends to different flavors and make necessary adjustments.
  • Verify and manage raw materials used in the blending process.
  • Test syrups and verify quality and food safety parameters.
  • Train on technical and process knowledge for water treatment/wastewater, product batching, product testing, package testing are provided for growth.
  • Maintain Good Manufacturing Practices with regards to micro/sanitation and general housekeeping.
  • Review daily batch reports.
  • Able to make out syrup room schedule.
  • Receive, put away, pick, cycle count, and perform physical inventories within the WMS system.
  • Demonstrate a working knowledge of a warehouse management system and its' related impact on all processes.
  • Blend syrup for products following Authorized Formula Documents. Required to document quantities and lot numbers on all ingredients used when making syrups.
  • Required to use the various software(s) used in the blending process. Batch module, WMS, etc...
  • Required to follow proper procedures (including sanitation as required) for tank preparation prior to blending.
  • Must read numbers from tanks and document on form attached to tank.
  • Must perform daily physical inventory on syrups, sweeteners, and gasses.
  • Responsible for scale calibration.
  • Required to make a control drink and test syrup.
  • Responsible for wearing all assigned safety equipment and observing safety rules.
  • Required to taste and compare to standard if questionable document results of test.
  • May be required to do change over on micro blends to different flavors and make necessary adjustments.
  • FOOD SAFETY: Required to follow the Good manufacturing Program GMPs as listed in Code of Federal Regulations CFR 21 section 110. Requires participation in various Food Safety related training that Buffalo Rock utilizes. Required to report potential issues related to Food Safety.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
