Job Summary

Gray Healthcare is recruiting a Male Support Worker in the Winterton area of North Lincolnshire to support a male in his 60s diagnosed with Autism and Moderate Learning Disabilities. The supported person lives independently in his own home and receives 24‑hour, 1‑to‑1 support.

Key Responsibilities & Qualifications
  • Social care experience, ideally within Autism and with experience supporting individuals with learning disabilities.
  • Experience supporting individuals with behaviours perceived as challenging.
  • Experience implementing detailed care plans and risk assessments.
  • Experience adapting communication skills, both verbal and non‑verbal, to aid understanding of the supported individual.
  • Motivation to promote engagement in meaningful activity.
  • A desire to support the individual in cultural and spiritual needs.
  • Good literacy and numeracy skills.
  • Current right to work in the UK and employment in the UK for at least 6 months. (Sponsorship not available.)
  • Enhanced DBS check and satisfactory references required.
Working Hours

36‑hour contract, 3 × 12‑hour shifts, 8:00 am to 8:00 pm (alternative weekend cover required).

Induction & Training

We provide an initial week of blended training, including online company induction, systems, and medication. In‑person training follows on the PROACT‑SCP‑UK PBS approach, which is a therapeutic, least‑restrictive alternative to restraint. You will also complete person‑centred training specific to the individual you support, with ongoing training throughout your time with Gray Healthcare.
