Job summary

A leading private healthcare provider is seeking a Maintenance Technician to oversee essential clinic upkeep and support clinical teams. This role requires solid building services knowledge and hands-on skills in plumbing and electrics. Job description
Location:

London, Primary Care Head Office. New Broad Street, with occasional travel to our other GP practices.

Weekly Hours:

24 (3 Shifts per week)

Schedule:

Mon, Tue, Fri : 8:00am – 4:30pm or 8:30am - 5:00pm, or 9:00am–5:30pm (No weekends)

Key Responsibilities:
  • Carrying out essential clinic maintenance—basic electrical, carpentry, plumbing, painting, and decorating.
  • Prioritising urgent tasks that could affect patient care or staff safety.
  • Supporting clinical teams with building‑related needs so their focus stays on patients.
  • Assisting in new clinic openings, ensuring facilities are ready from day one.
  • Coordinating with contractors and suppliers, ensuring cost‑effective and timely work.
  • Providing proactive solutions to keep our environments safe, compliant, and welcoming.
About You:
  • A solid understanding of building services and maintenance practices.
  • Hands‑on skills across basic plumbing, electrics, and general repairs.
  • IT and communication skills to log, prioritise, and manage tasks effectively.
  • Experience in healthcare or office environments (advantageous, but not essential).
  • Relevant certifications (City & Guilds, NVQ, plumbing/electrical qualifications) desirable but not essential.
  • Ability to travel, predominantly across London; rare out‑of‑London occurrences (e.g., Manchester, Glasgow or Birmingham) may be required with travel costs and time covered.
