Job Description

One of our US law firm clients is seeking a client-service focused and detail-oriented LPM Reporting Analyst to join their London office.

  • Salary up to £60,000 + generous benefits, including a £100 monthly employee contribution for lunch or other expenses, free lunch every Wednesday, discretionary bonuses, and more!
  • Working hours: 09:30-17:30 (Monday-Friday)
  • Hybrid working (3 days in the office / 2 days remote)

The successful candidate will have a strong interest in financial modelling and reporting. You will work closely with Business Services teams to provide Partners and Lawyers with key financial insights and reporting solutions that support strategic, data-driven decision making and improve matter management and profitability.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Utilise legal project management software, Excel, and firm resources to prepare reports, models, and templates to analyze firm financial metrics across various legal engagements.
  • Review time entry data to ensure proper workstream allocation aligned with budgets to optimize collections and profitability.
  • Provide data and analytics to assist in timely and accurate budget development.
  • Participate in, lead meetings with lawyers regarding matter statuses, billing expectations, timelines, and updates to matter plans.
  • Identify and implement process improvements, including automation and scaling of financial reporting and matter tracking initiatives.
  • Develop expertise in transactional law areas and related fee drivers to support strategic planning, financial forecasting, and matter budgeting.
  • Maintain project trackers and budget repositories to ensure current statuses for oversight and reporting.
Skills & Requirements:
  • Previous experience in practice operations or as an analyst within a law firm.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent/relevant experience.
  • Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, formulas, data visualization) and proficiency in PowerPoint.
  • Experience with legal budgets, financial reporting, and fee monitoring.
  • Knowledge of private equity fee structures and pricing models is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Power BI, Aderant, Iridium, Foundation, or Clocktimizer is a plus.
