Role Overview

The Logistics Controller will take ownership of all import and export processes, ensuring the smooth and compliant movement of goods across international borders. This role will also play a key part in driving continuous improvement within the logistics and warehouse functions — optimising efficiency, reducing costs, and improving performance through data-driven KPI management and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Imports & Exports
    • Manage all import and export operations, including documentation, customs compliance, freight forwarding, and liaising with suppliers and logistics partners.
    • Ensure all shipments comply with UK, EU, and international trade regulations and food safety standards.
    • Negotiate and maintain strong relationships with freight forwarders, hauliers, and customs agents to ensure cost-effective and timely delivery.

    • Work closely with the warehouse team to improve space utilisation, stock accuracy, and dispatch efficiency.
    • Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) across warehouse and logistics operations — e.g. delivery accuracy, turnaround time, cost per shipment, and inventory performance.
    • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, service, and cost-effectiveness.
    • Support planning for seasonal peaks, new product launches, and promotional campaigns.
  • Continuous Improvement & Leadership
    • Lead initiatives to streamline logistics processes, reduce waste, and improve productivity.
    • Drive a culture of accountability and continuous improvement within the logistics and warehouse teams.
