This new post will support existing services and improvements in Gastroenterology and hepatology in Gateshead. This post will work with consultant colleagues to deliver gastroenterology and/or hepatology services including ward commitment that will support existing gastroenterology inpatient ward cover and gastroenterology outpatient service delivery. The post could support an interest in advanced endoscopy and endoscopy training, nutrition, IBD or hepatology/HPB depending on the area of interest of the successful applicant. The post holder will be expected to participate in GIM and endoscopy on call rotas.
In addition, we offer the opportunity to be involved in teaching and training, research and audit/quality improvement.
Candidates for the post must be registered medical practitioners and on, or eligible to join, the Specialist Register within six months of the date of the Appointments Committee.
This post will be based at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Gateshead. The post-holder will be responsible for gastroenterology service provision including outpatients, endoscopy and gastroenterology ward inpatients, as well as participating in GIM and out of hour endoscopy rotas.
