Lifting Equipment Engineer – Depot Based

Location: Warrington

Contract: Full Time, 40 hours per week

Working Hours: 06:30 – 16:30, Monday to Friday

We are currently looking for a skilled Depot-Based Lifting Equipment Engineer to join our busy workshop team at our Warrington depot.

You will be responsible for the inspection, testing, maintenance, and repair of lifting equipment to ensure it is safe, compliant, and ready for hire.

Day-to-day responsibilities include:

  • Carrying out LOLER inspections, thorough examinations, and functional testing of lifting equipment within the depot.
  • Performing planned preventative maintenance to ensure equipment reliability and availability.
  • Diagnosing faults and completing mechanical and hydraulic repairs on a wide range of lifting hire equipment.
  • Preparing equipment for hire, ensuring it meets all statutory, safety, and Speedy quality standards.
  • Accurately completing service records, test certificates, defect reports, and compliance documentation using Speedy systems.
  • Maintaining a safe, clean, and organised workshop environment in line with health and safety regulations.
  • Working closely with depot colleagues, hire desk teams, and management to support daily operations and customer requirements.
  • Attending customer sites when required to undertake breakdowns, servicing, or inspections on equipment on long-term hire contracts.
  • Acting as a technical point of contact, supporting a positive customer experience and reinforcing Speedy’s commitment to safety and service.
  • Supporting your business unit and team in delivering Speedy’s ESG Strategy – “Decade to Deliver.”
What You’ll Need
  • A full UK driving licence.
  • Strong knowledge of hydraulics and mechanical systems.
  • Experience working with lifting equipment and compliance testing (LOLER knowledge essential).
