Other EASA Part 66 Aircraft Maintenance License with relevant aircraft Type Ratings required. Certification experience within an EASA Part 145 organisation.

Position Purpose: The Licensed B1 Mechanical Inspector is responsible for ensuring compliance with maintenance, inspection, and legislative standards as specified by EASA and the Quality and Airworthiness Manager.
Job Description

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Acting as an inspector in support of a specific aircraft, line or base maintenance input in accordance with MOE Part 146, as revised.
  • Perform the day-to-day duties and responsibilities of a Licensed Mechanical Senior Inspector, when requested by a Service Team Manager.
  • Manage manpower resources, consisting of licensed mechanical and avionics inspectors and fitters, as assigned to a specific aircraft line or base maintenance input, when requested by a Maintenance Team Leader or Service Team Manager.
  • Certify tasks they have been trained and authorized to perform, including inspecting and certifying work at Luton main base and other locations worldwide. Carry out additional maintenance tasks as requested, including Category ‘C’ Certification for qualified personnel in accordance with MOE Part 34, as revised.
  • Ensure maintenance commitments are fulfilled within the time scale; inform the team of delays.
  • Ensure all relevant maintenance documentation is completed fully before shift end or reassignment.

Additional Functions:

  • Share strategic departmental insights related to Product Support.
  • Advise the STM of any departmental difficulties or shortcomings.
  • Monitor departmental goals, product delivery, and quality measures.
  • Maintain personal and departmental standards to ensure continued success.
  • Ensure proper handovers to maintain workflow.
  • Attend Stand-up Board meetings as required.
  • Perform other duties as delegated by the STM or Department Manager.
  • Promote quality workmanship according to EASA and UK CAA standards, ensuring compliance with statutory and company standards for all maintenance and design change work on aircraft and components.

Other Requirements:

  • Extensive experience in line & base maintenance.
  • Aircraft inspection and certification experience.
  • Experience in the corporate industry is an advantage.
  • Knowledge of Aviation Legislation.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient computer skills.
  • Flexible working approach.
  • Organized approach to daily tasks.
