Annual Salary: £22k to £24k (approx.)

Hours: 37.5 hours per week (8:00am - 4:00pm, 30 minute lunch break)

About the Role

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Learning Mentor to join our team. This role is designed to inspire and support children with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs by creating engaging, imaginative, and confidence-building learning experiences. You will spark curiosity, nurture self-esteem through hands-on activities, and transform everyday learning into meaningful adventures. Acting as a positive role model, you will help children develop resilience, motivation, and the skills they need to thrive both in and beyond the classroom.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work with individual pupils and small groups to build confidence and support learning.
  • Respond to the direction of the SENDCo, Pastoral Team, and Senior Leadership Team.
  • Understand specific learning needs and provide differentiated support.
  • Follow one-page profiles, EHCPs, ISPs, behaviour plans, and risk assessments.
  • Plan and deliver SEMH interventions and collaborate with class teachers.
  • Maintain accurate records of interventions and monitor progress.
  • Support behaviour and well-being through restorative approaches and therapeutic thinking.
  • Supervise pupils during break/lunch times and accompany on school visits.
  • Build positive relationships with pupils, parents/carers, and professionals.
  • Use Team Teach/positive handling when required to ensure safety.
  • Record safeguarding and behaviour concerns using Smoothwall Safeguard Software.
