A leading water utility company in the UK is seeking a Leakage Control Technician to join their team. The role involves conducting surveys and collaborating with internal departments to identify leakage. Candidates must possess experience in leakage methodologies and undertake physical activities. Affinity Water are looking for talented and driven individuals to join us as Leakage Control Technicians. This is a varied and challenging role within Asset Strategy, detecting leakage and unaccounted-for water in our network whilst providing an excellent experience to Affinity Water customers. Successful candidates will ensure that work is carried out safely and in compliance with company procedures and will take ownership within assigned District Metered Area’s (DMA’s) to deliver set leakage targets.
Carry out Leakage detection surveys across our water mains network using various detection techniques across the Central company area. This area extends from Saffron Walden to Woking. Affinity Water supply area is available online if you wish to view it for yourself. We will endeavour to keep you in a region within that supply area but this could change depending on need of the business.
Occasional travel made be requested to the other areas Affinity Water supply for which additional incentives are provided. These additional areas are Affinity Water East and Affinity Water South East.
Work collaboratively with our internal customers to understand and facilitate their requirements.
You will be required to work fully independently and use your own initiative to solve problems in the field and find effective solutions.
This job does require lone working in a field-based environment
You will work towards a set standard of performance which will be regularly monitored
Use mapping and telemetry software to enhance surveys.
Use works management systems to report and raise jobs
Detect leakage and unaccounted for water in our network safely making sure that all hazards are reported daily and in real time.
Communicate with other departments on any network corrections or when we raise certain work to be repaired.
