Job Title: Registered Dietitian - Lead
Department: Food and Nutrition Services
Location: Rochester General Hospital

SUMMARY

The role is responsible for delivering comprehensive nutritional care to all participants and serving as a consultant to healthcare professionals in determining optimal nutrition strategies. This role provides leadership and guidance to the Nutrition Department, supporting Registered Dietitians to ensure high standards of clinical practice and service delivery.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Leadership & Team Oversight: Supervise and mentor Registered Dietitians and Food Service Associates; manage scheduling, training, and ensure compliance with departmental standards and procedures.

  • Clinical Nutrition Management: Oversee and perform nutritional assessments, individualized care planning, documentation, and education for participants, supporting clinical goals and interdisciplinary collaboration.

  • Menu & Food Quality Oversight: Partner with vendors to design menus, improve food quality, and implement operational efficiencies that enhance service delivery.

  • Education & Wellness Programs: Develop and present nutrition education for staff and participants; coordinate wellness initiatives that encourage healthy lifestyles.

  • Food Service Operations: Conduct inspections, monitor food quality and satisfaction, and uphold safety and service standards within kitchen and food service environments.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nutrition or a related field

  • 5 years of experience as a Registered Dietitian

  • Registered Dietitian (RD) credential from the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR)

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Strong analytical, computer, and communication skills

  • Demonstrated commitment to exceptional customer service and patient care

  • Certification in a specialized area of nutrition

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

M - Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; Requires frequent walking, standing or squatting.

PAY RANGE

$31.00 - $40.00
