A health services provider in Doncaster seeks an experienced Lead Nurse to enhance sexual health care quality. The ideal candidate will provide clinical leadership and deliver high-quality nurse-led services while supporting staff development. Our sexual health services are growing and we are looking for an experienced, passionate Lead Nurse to help shape the future of high quality, inclusive care for the communities we serve.
This is an exciting opportunity for a clinician with advanced contraception and sexual health skills, a commitment to safeguarding, and a desire to lead and inspire a multidisciplinary nursing team.
You’ll play a pivotal role in expanding our nurse led services, driving clinical excellence, supporting staff development, and strengthening partnerships across Doncaster’s health, education, and community sectors.
As our Lead Nurse, you will:
Provide day to day clinical leadership for the nursing team, acting as Nurse-in-Charge.
Deliver high-quality nurse-led clinics, including STI assessment and treatment, contraception provision and LARC services.
Act as the Safeguarding Lead for the service, representing us at multi-agency meetings and supporting colleagues with safeguarding decisions.
Support clinical governance, policy development, audit, research and evidence-based practice.
Mentor, develop and clinically supervise nurses, HCAs, students and wider partners.
Help shape service improvements, outreach initiatives and integrated working across Doncaster.
Take an active role in training, education and workforce development across the sexual health partnership.
You will be:
An RGN with current NMC registration.
Qualified in contraception (e.g., DFSRH) and trained in STI management (STIF or equivalent).
Experienced in sexual health nursing, including nurse-led clinics and LARC skills or a willingness to train.
Confident in providing clinical leadership, staff supervision and handling complex safeguarding matters.
Passionate about delivering inclusive, non-judgemental care to people of all ages.
A strong communicator with excellent organisational skills and a commitment to continual professional development.
An independent prescriber or willing to undertake the training.
