As part of our commitment to five-star excellence, we are seeking a detail-oriented Lead Attendant to ensure the highest standards of cleanliness and guest satisfaction across the property. This role combines hands-on room attendant duties with leadership responsibilities, including room inspections, team mentorship, and assisting Rooms Leadership with organizational tasks. The ideal candidate will possess expertise in cleaning techniques, safe equipment and chemical handling, and have a keen eye for detail to meet luxury standards. Strong communication skills and a passion for delivering exceptional guest experiences are essential for success in this role.

Responsibilities:

  • Guest Room & Public Space Cleaning: Lead by example in performing housekeeping duties, including cleaning and maintaining guest rooms, bathrooms, and public areas to meet hotel standards.
  • Site & Room Inspections: Work as an assist for inspections in the cleanliness of rooms, suites, cottages, and public space to ensure they meet Southall's high standards. Address and resolve any cleanliness issues promptly, ensuring that there is quick follow-through and corrective actions are communicated to leadership.
  • Standards & Procedures Enforcement: Ensure adherence to hotel standards, policies, and procedures. Prioritize and organize work assignments, direct staff performance, and follow up on tasks to maintain quality control.
  • Room Types & Layouts Expertise: Be an expert in understanding the hotel's room types, layouts, and configurations. Demonstrate knowledge of cleanliness expectations and the specific requirements for turndown procedures.
  • Guest Interaction & Communication: Effectively communicate with staff, guests, and leadership in both verbal and written forms. Provide clear directions and maintain an approachable, professional demeanor at all times.
  • Physical Labor & Equipment Use: Assist with handling linens, supplies, and equipment. Must be able to lift, pull, and push up to 50 lbs as needed for room inspections and task execution.

Skills and Experience:

  • Hotel Housekeeping or Laundry Experience: Strongly preferred, with at least 3-5 years of experience in a hotel environment.
  • Communication Skills: Ability to communicate effectively and professionally in English with guests, co-workers, and leadership (verbal and written).
  • Attention to Detail: Strong ability to work with attention to detail, speed, accuracy, and follow-through, ensuring high standards are met consistently.
  • Team Skills: Excellent interpersonal skills with a focus on active listening, coaching abilities, adaptability, collaboration, and responsiveness to dynamic situations.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to push, pull, and lift up to 50 lbs. Must be able to walk, stand, and perform duties for extended periods.
  • Availability: Flexible schedule to include weekends, evenings, and/or holidays.

Education:

  • Preferred: 3-5 years of hotel hospitality experience, with a focus on housekeeping or laundry operations.
