RSPCA The Ark is an independent and fully self‑funded charity, located in Fareham, Hampshire. We receive no funding from the main RSPCA charity. We rehabilitate, rehome or release domestic pets, stock animals & wildlife at our animal centre, The Stubbington Ark.

Role Description

The Lead Animal Care Assistant for Small Animals is a full‑time, on‑site role located at our animal centre, The Stubbington Ark. The role involves overseeing daily care routines for small animals, ensuring their wellbeing and health needs are met, and maintaining appropriate environments. Responsibilities include feeding, cleaning habitats, monitoring animal health, maintaining records, and assisting with veterinary‑related tasks. The role also involves supervising team members, facilitating animal adoptions, and coordinating with other departments as required.

Qualifications
  • Proficiency in Animal Care, Pet Care, and Animal Health practices
  • Experience in Animal Work and general handling of small animals
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • Ability to lead and collaborate effectively in a team environment
  • Previous experience in animal care supervision is advantageous
  • Relevant certifications or training in animal care and welfare are essential.
