Job description

The Wildlife Trust has an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic individual with a good knowledge of lowland farming systems and a keen interest in nature, to lead on our land advice programme to farmers and landowners. The role will work with colleagues and partner organisations to contribute to landscape-scale recovery for nature, through advising farmers on enhancements to wildlife habitats at the farm scale and through co‑ordinating the work of farmer clusters.

The Land Advisor will provide land management advice to farmers and landowners across Cambridgeshire, with a particular focus on delivery of a nature recovery network in our priority Living Landscape areas. They will support farmer clusters, working in partnership with others such as FWAG East, provide advice on Countryside Stewardship applications, and organise training and events to promote nature friendly land management and improvements to farm infrastructure to benefit water quality and the surrounding environment.

This role will work closely with other members of the wider countryside team to deliver other nature conservation initiatives including work on County Wildlife Sites, river restoration schemes and pond creation for the Natural England Great Crested Newt District-level Licensing Scheme.
