A leading healthcare provider in Birmingham is seeking an ITU Staff Nurse for its new Intensive Care Unit. In this role, you will provide high-quality care for critically ill patients and work closely with senior colleagues. You must have NMC registration and prior ITU experience. We are seeking a dedicated ITU Staff Nurse to join our brand-new, state-of-the-art Intensive Care Unit at The Harborne Hospital, HCA Healthcare UK’s 4th NHS Joint Venture.
Purpose-built with both patients and colleagues in mind, The Harborne Hospital is a 50‑bed, multi-specialty private hospital offering advanced clinical infrastructure, exceptional technology, and modern facilities. We deliver full clinical pathways across specialties including Cardiology, Cancer Care, and Complex Surgery.
As an ITU Staff Nurse in our 6‑beded Critical Care Unit, you will work alongside leading consultants from the Birmingham area, caring for patients recovering from Cardiothoracic Surgery, Hepatobiliary Surgery, Neuro and Spinal Surgery, and Colorectal Robotic Surgery. You will be part of a close-knit, supportive team of experienced ITU nurses who value collaboration, fairness, and professional development. You will receive ongoing guidance and support from Senior Staff Nurses and Charge Nurses as you continue to develop your critical care skills and confidence.

As an ITU Staff Nurse, you will deliver high‑quality, evidence‑based care to critically ill patients, ensuring safe monitoring, assessment, and treatment throughout their stay. You will carry out detailed patient observations, manage ventilated and high‑dependency patients under supervision, and support the delivery of complex care plans. You will administer medications safely, assist with procedures, maintain accurate clinical documentation, and communicate effectively with patients, families, and the wider multidisciplinary team. You will contribute to maintaining a safe environment, uphold infection control standards, and participate in ongoing training and development to enhance your critical care skills.
